Security Procedures
Visitors can once again enjoy the grounds
of Liberty Island, and experience the new
Statue of Liberty tours.
New security measures are now in place.
All passengers will be screened before
they board the Circle Line-Statue of
Liberty Ferry boats, and there will be
restrictions on backpacks and luggage.
Visitors are advised to arrive early,
leaving up to one hour for processing
through the new security system. If
possible, visitors are also advised to
leave backpacks and luggage at home.
Please note the following security
considerations:
* All persons and property are subject to search.
* No packages, backpacks, coolers or parcels are permitted.
* All weapons are prohibited, including: Firearms, Explosives
or flammables, knives or sharp objects (including tools), Pepper
spray and mace.
* Public access on Liberty Island is limited to the grounds only.
* Please check with park staff for availability of public programs
