Circle Line Statue of Liberty & Ellis Island Ferry From Liberty State Park
One Of NJ’s Best Kept Secrets

NEW YORK (NY) – Standing tall and proud in the New York Harbor for the last 120 years, the Statue of Liberty is THE universal symbol of freedom. If you plan to visit the national monument on her birthday this October 28th, you can beat the traffic and skip the lines by heading straight to Liberty State Park in Jersey City!

What most people don’t know is that Circle Line Statue of Liberty & Ellis Island Ferry, the provider of ferry service to Liberty and Ellis Islands, operates a ferry stop at Liberty State Park in Jersey City.  The NJ location offers shorter lines and faster processing, which makes visiting our national treasures a virtual breeze – and there’s even parking!

Just like Circle Line’s Battery Park Ferry service in New York, the Liberty State Park Ferry in New Jersey goes to both the Statue of Liberty National Monument and Ellis Island Immigration Museum. Accessible by car, bus and light rail, Liberty State Park is easy to get to – so there is no reason not to take advantage of what savvy travelers have come to know.

Sail to Liberty Island, where you can stand at the feet of legendary Lady Liberty, and experience – as millions of immigrants before you have – the magnitude of this great symbol which has welcomed people to New York Harbor for decades. A Monument Access Pass allows you inside the Statue of Liberty National Monument, and is free with the purchase of an advance ferry ticket.  Ferry tickets and monument access passes are available by calling 866-STATUE4 or online at www.statuereservations.com. A Monument Access Pass allows you to visit the Observation Deck on the top of the Statue’s pedestal for an unparallel view of New York.

No special passes are needed to visit the Ellis Island Immigration Museum – once the country’s busiest immigration processing station and, now a 3-story building dedicated to the history of immigration and the important role this island played during the mass migration during the turn of the century.

An Audio Tour is also available for an additional $6 fee. You can listen to the voices of generations past as they recall their voyages to America, hear the story behind the Statue and learn what it was like to pass through immigration on Ellis Island.  This program is designed to allow you to go at your own pace and create your own tour through both islands.

The Circle Line Ferry sails every day, weather permitting, except for Christmas day. Ferry service begins at 9:30AM and ends at 3:30PM Ferry tickets (without audio tour) are $11.50 for adults, $4.50 for children, and $9.50 for seniors. There is no other fee to visit either monument.  However, the only way to guarantee access inside the Statue of Liberty National Monument is to reserve a ferry ticket and Monument Access Pass in advance by either telephone or internet.

Liberty State Park can be reached by car by taking Exit 14B off the Jersey Turnpike and following the signs; by bus via the Central Avenue Bus designated Liberty State Park; and by New Jersey Transit Light Rail from Jersey City and Bayonne, New Jersey. A public parking lot is available and only a short walk from the ferry for the convenience of passengers. Prices are currently $5.00 per car, and $10.00 per bus.

To purchase both ferry tickets and Monument Access Passes call 866-STATUE4 (866-782-8834) or visit www.statuereservations.com.  To purchase only a ferry ticket for both Liberty and Ellis Islands, visit Circle Line’s ticket booth at Liberty State Park in New Jersey. School groups are welcome.
