CIRCLE LINE DOWNTOWN NAMED THE OFFICIAL WATER TOUR OPERATOR FOR PUBLIC ART FUND’S “THE NEW YORK CITY WATERFALLS” BY OLAFUR ELIASSON

New York – NY As the world awaits the debut of “The New York City Waterfalls” by internationally renowned artist Olafur Eliasson, Circle Line Downtown is hard at work, crafting OFFICIAL WATER TOURS that will introduce this spectacular achievement to scores of visitors the way the artist and its presenters intended.

“The New York City Waterfalls”are sure to be one of the most highly anticipated art exhibitions in the world. Presented by the Public Art Fund in collaboration with the City of New York, Eliasson will install four monumental scale waterfalls along the shores of Brooklyn, Manhattan and Governors Island from July through October 2008. Circle Line Downtown, based at Pier 16 at the South Street Seaport, has been selected by the Public Art Fund as the exclusive provider of OFFICIAL Water Tours to the Waterfalls.

With over 50 years in the tourism industry and a reputation as one of the premiere sightseeing companies in the world, Circle Line Downtown has worked with the Public Art Fund to create OFFICIAL tours that uniquely capture the essence of this once-in-a- lifetime experience. 

Official 30-Minute Tours - PATRIOT and ZEPHYR will feature the closest views of all four Waterfalls, and an exclusive audio introduction and insights by artist Olafur Eliasson.  These 30-minute cruises will take you to each enchanting Waterfall for an experience you’ll never forget. Tickets are $10.00 for adults, $9.00 for seniors and $5.00 for children. Official Water Tours sail at 9:00am, 9:45am, 10:30am, 11:15am, 12:15pm, 1:00pm, 1:45pm, 2:30pm, 3:15pm, 4:00pm, 5:30pm, 6:15pm, 7:00pm, 7:45pm, 8:30pm and 9:15pm.

Official 60-Minute Tour - ZEPHYR Seaport Liberty Cruise - For those looking to witness the beauty of Waterfalls alongside other great sights, a special version of the 60-minute  ZEPHYR Seaport Liberty Cruise will include the closest views of the Waterfalls, as well as the Statue of Liberty and other New York City landmarks. This tour will also feature the exclusive audio introduction and insights by the artist, Olafur Eliasson. These afternoon and evening tours are a great way to see the Waterfalls and other spectacular sights from the harbor – all on a luxury yacht. Tickets are $25.00 for adults, $23.00 for seniors and $15.00 for children. ZEPHYR Seaport Liberty Cruises sail every 90 minutes at 12:00pm, 1:30pm, 3:00pm, and 4:30pm. Official Shark Tour - Want to really experience the Waterfalls? On SHARK, our exciting 30-minute thrill ride, you’ll feel like a part of the action! After the Waterfalls, say hello to Lady Liberty as you will be taken to within feet of the monument for an up close visit. Tickets are $21.00 for adults, $19.00 for seniors, $15.00 for children. SHARK sails every hour at 12:00pm 1:00pm 2:00pm 3:00pm 4:00pm 5:00pm 6:00pm and 7:00pm on weekends in May and then daily from June to Labor Day weekend.
